Tial Hlei Sung immigrated to the United States from Burma in May 2013. She resettled in Columbus Junction, Iowa, where she graduated from high school in 2017.
Tial is passionate about helping people who do not speak English. She speaks multiple languages and dialects, including Hakha and Burmese. As an AmeriCorps member, Tial provides translation and interpretation services to refugees in Columbus Junction. She is also involved as an advocate for the Chin community.
In her free time, Tial enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with her family.
