Meet Tekle

Fekadu Tekle is a RISE AmeriCorps Member serving with EMBARC in Des Moines.

Tekle is well-connected in multiple immigrant and refugee communities due to his previous work as an interpreter and as an employee specialist, which involved helping new immigrants in the Des Moines area search for jobs. He also worked with young adults in career development and degree evaluation programs. In this role, Tekle especially enjoyed meeting students and helping with their schooling. 

Through RISE, Tekle’s goal is to build more professional communication skills.
