Meet Dayrin
Dayrin Lovan is a RefugeeRISE AmeriCorps member at IC Compassion, a nonprofit organization that seeks to empower people in culturally diverse communities with the tools needed to move out of poverty.
Originally from Guatemala, Dayrin moved to Iowa In 2001. She joined AmeriCorps because she loves to help people and wants to make a difference in their lives. Dayrin speaks Spanish and serves as a translator for the Latino community in the Iowa City area. "I enjoy working at IC Compassion because of the diversity," she says. "I enjoy the flavor of different cultures." In her free time, Dayrin likes to spend time reflecting and praying for God's will. She lives in Iowa City with her family. |
