Meet Sam

Samuel Ti Tha Zam is a RISE AmeriCorps member serving with EMBARC Des Moines.

Sam grew up in Burma and came to the United States in 2011 with his family, not knowing a lot about the English language. He is currently in his fourth year at Grand View University in Des Moines. 

​After RISE AmeriCorps, Sam wants to find a job that aligns with his goals -- he hopes to learn a new skill set in the  communications field while helping more people in his community.

"I would like to make an impact by creating more resources for the community and contributing my knowledge to the EMBARC community. I like to help people who are experiencing what I experienced in the past."

In his free time, Sam is interested in film and watching movies in order to learn technique from it. He also likes to go to the park and enjoy fishings.
