Raquel Medina is a RISE AmeriCorps Member serving with EMBARC in partnership with Latinx Immigrants of Iowa.
Raquel is originally from Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico. She has experience working with the Latino community as an advocate for victims of violence and DACA recipients. Raquel also previously worked at a food pantry supplying food, clothes, diapers and other household necessities to the community.
“I was invited to participate in this program and I feel it is going to open new opportunities to continue serving the community, especially the Spanish speakers, since that is my native language.”
