Meet Orline

Orline Makengo is a RISE AmeriCorps member serving with YPN in Cedar Rapids. 

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Orline came to the United States with her husband in 2014. They were then resettled in Iowa. Orline attended Kirkwood Community College and studied Early Childhood Education, while learning English at the same time. She also speaks French and Lingala. Currently Orline is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Mount Mercy University.

Orline loves working with kids, taking care of them, and helping them to be successful in their future classes. Her goal is to work with preschoolers through 2nd graders.
