Meet Nancy

Nancy Alers is a RISE AmeriCorps Member serving with Centro Latino of Iowa in Council Bluffs.

Nancy has experience working with immigrants and refugees in a variety of roles, including as an assistant teacher, family navigator, and volunteer. She also provided tutoring, translation and instructive support to refugees students in an elementary school.

Nancy also obtained her real estate license from Randall Academy. She plans to continue studying and updating her knowledge in the field of real estate. 

Through RISE, Nancy is interested in engaging with the community to support new refugees. She is also looking forward to developing and enhancing her professional skills. 

Nancy’s hobbies are cooking, volunteering, exercising and spending time with her kids and husband.
