Meet Maggie

Maggie Peterson is a RISE AmeriCorps member from Wapello, Iowa serving in Columbus Junction with the city's Community Development Center.

She graduated from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids in 2020 with degrees in Psychology and Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. Maggie has worked previously with communities in need through her volunteer work at the Catherine McAuley Center and mission trips to Haiti.

Maggie has also been accepted into the Peace Corps and, pending COVID-19 delays, will be departing for Kosovo in May of 2021. Maggie is excited to work with the refugee and immigrant communities in Columbus Junction, as a guide and resource, helping them to meet their needs!
