Meet Feli

Picture
"I am honored to be a member of this amazing program and would love to keep helping!"
Feli Keti is a RISE AmeriCorps member serving with EMBARC (Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resource Center) in Waterloo, Iowa.

Feli was born in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Once in the US he resettled in Illinois, where he attended college and earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Sociology.

After graduation, Feli moved to Waterloo to be closer to family and help out with EMBARC. First he worked as a contract interpreter for French and Lingala languages. Then he served a year with RISE AmeriCorps as navigator for the Congolese community. In his second term with RISE, Feli is supporting a youth after-school youth program.

Feli has two pets, a dog and a lizard, and he has played soccer all his life. He is excited to travel to new places and learn about other cultures in the future.
