Meet Evelyn

Evelyn Berryhill is a RISE AmeriCorps member serving with the Catherine McAuley Center in Cedar Rapids. 

Evelyn has spent most of her life in Iowa, and she’s going to stay a bit longer while serving as the RefugeeRISE Distance Learning Coach at CMC. Evelyn recently graduated from Grinnell College where she studied Anthropology and Linguistics.

Passionate about the intersections of social identity and language use, Evelyn hopes to help counteract structural injustices faced by culturally and linguistically diverse populations in the United States, including English language learners.

​In her spare time, Evelyn enjoys cooking, crafting, cuddling her cats and dogs, and spending time with her family.
