Cherie Morse is a RefugeeRISE AmeriCorps member at the Catherine McAuley Center in Cedar Rapids, where she assists the refugee and immigrant community with navigating the legal system.
In the past Cherie has studied religion at the University of Iowa, and now is a paralegal student. She is also involved within the United Methodist Church, helping them advocate for various causes.
Cherie hopes to help the refugee community become more connected through shared experiences. Following her AmeriCorps term, she aims to work at a nonprofit organization involved in refugee resettlement.
In her spare time Cherie enjoys reading, watching Iowa Hawkeye sports, and spending time with her family.
